Effect of Gibberellin and SADH on Berry Size and Shelf Life of Grape Fruit

Abstract
The experiment was conducted with two cultivars of grape (Vitis labruscana) to determine the effects of applications of Succinic Acid 2, 2-Dimethylhydrazide (SADH) and Gibberellin (GA) alone and in combinations upon the weight of berry, fruit quality and shelf life.
Growth regulators were applied at ten days after full bloom to cluster of 13 year-old grapevine.
Applications of GA to ¢¥Campbell Early¢¥ increased berry weight and hardening of fruit petiole but had no effect on fruit quality and loss of moisture and berry abscission during the storage.
The berry applied with SADH reduced berry size but the SADH combined with GA gave an increasing tendency.
In ¢¥Niagara¢¥ the application of both SADH and GA did not significantly affect on berry weight, fruit quality and shelf life.
